VIDEO ANIMATIONS

These are extracts from video sizzles I produced at Disney that demonstrate my talents in executing multimedia portions of the sizzles. These are quick executions for fast turnarounds.

NOTE: Gifs lower the quality and introduce noise, so these are just demo samples. High resolution versions are available upon request.

TV GUIDE TO APP

I re-created some of the interface graphic elements including Hulu overlays, paused the (“Fargo” via FX) clip and faded in the car ad (right) and copy (left) to mimic the process of an ad playing. Finally, I created a minimalistic tablet frame.

VOICES VIDEO TITLE CARDS

Using Photoshop, I extracted the subjects, took pull quotes from various parts of the video, created walls of copy (on trasnparency) and animated a small angle using a wiggle on the camera’s position property. I also added depth of field and some basic text animation to add interest.

GAME-THEMED SALES SIZZLE

Boxes with clips of the shows on 3 sides and show logos on the front. Premiere Pro and After Effects.

I re-created the Candy Crush interface as the one provided wasn’t high res. I then masked the QR code out of the provided still, mapped that code onto a 3D cube and animated it.

For the game controller, I used box modeling in Maya image references for the silhouette. The remaining design was from a stream of thought with high tech/modern in mind. I didn’t have time to texture it nor was I sure this would be accepted so I shaded (instead of applying Ups and textures) and animated in Element 3D.

BEAUTY SALES SIZZLE

Using provided stills and videos, I found creative ways to display these assets within the beauty-focussed sizzle.

I provided an overview of successful sales ads via a grid as the end card. The title plate was produced by DeadLizard.

I wanted to show not only the QR code but the call to action result.. In this case, I kept it simple with 2D assets created in After Effects.

Another grid technique that came to mind for this was to zoom from my composite to full screen then a 3D tower angled to show multiple ads as they rise to reveal more.

DIGITAL

I co-directed a talent shoot with subjects watching content that I composited in post. Using those shoots and still assets, I creatively executed a series of displays of content using whatever animation ideas that came to mind as I went.

I created the social posts for FX’s “Pose” section to display a different style than the standard realistic social post on white backgrounds. I also added some animations specific to the show.

SMALL BUSINESS EXPO/HULU

Create a Hulu content highlight sizzle.

I studied Hulu’s grid and based this off of it. I created a pre-comp template, rounding the content corners in After Effects so that all squares would be the same. I duplicated those pre-comps and laid them out in the main composition. Using eye trick transition, I matched the final frame of the video sizzle (lady with outstretched arms) with the frame in the pre-comp grid. Finally, I animated the grid parts with an offset style and motion blur, pushed the center in negative z-space while bringing the logo forward with slight drift.

OSCARS PROMO ENVELOPE

Present Oscars ad buyers with provided logos.

I purchased a 3D envelope, rigged the opening in Maya, textured it with sparkles created in After Effects, then created a textured piece of paper. Finally, I created a flare along a curve with masks to reveal each logo and placed an official Oscars background behind it.

PHARMA SIZZLE

Create end cards for a pharmaceutical themed sizzle. These were likely two different sizzles with different styles in the same campaign.

For the first animation, I used a provided design and gave it life with dynamics by cropping the capsule into the circle and wiggling the pills below a little. For the second animation that wraps up the brands shown in the video, I created a 3D capsule and carousel.

WOMEN OF DISNEY VIDEO

Women’s sizzle to highlight women and girls in Disney’s content.

I created a solid with a square mask, duplicated it and colored the bottom one similarly teal like the clips that follow. I like this style where I layer same parts and rotate slightly to add a drop shadow inspired look. I overlaid these social posts over live footage. The small windows allowed me to place faces there to give it a social media feel while the remaining white space on the right allowed messaging.

The following - I chose a doctor clip with a similar wall color to transition to a Doc McStuffins clip with similar colors.

VIDEO/ANIMATION: Tech Summit

To display stats, I saw an opportunity to design the logo and stats around the original (below). I then animated elements and tracked the design with the camera movement.

This is the actual wall decor.
